In 2010, Sian founded Kollective Mobile, a boutique agency specializing in native mobile development for servicing agencies, startups, and other organizations.

In 2013 Sian launched Kollective South  one of the only co working spaces serving the downtown AUC area bordering Spelman, Morehouse and Clarke-Atlanta Universities. Kollective South was a first of its kind ‘communi-tech’ center and offered technical programming and meetups. The center functioned as a precursor to newer spaces such as The Gathering Spot, Switchyards, and TechSquare Labs.

In 2014, Sian launched Cast Beauty , a data-driven beauty recommendation platform. Cast was the only beauty app that utilized specific data points from the weather to provide users with personalized beauty product recommendations. Cast Beauty won L’Oreal’s prestigious Women in Digital  award presented to women founders of companies with the potential to revolutionize the beauty industry. The app received global attention and write-ups in MarieClaire, Blavity, Ebony, Redbook, PopSugar, and AdAge among others.


Sian has authored 2 books; “Learn Design for iOS ” and “Design for iOS with Sketch ” (Apress).

Design for iOS with Sketch is the first book written on Sketch. Sketch has quickly become the de-facto standard for web and mobile UI design. Sian is at work on her third book: Emoji: Creating the Lexicon of Mobile Communication.


Sian is executive producer on the film “A Luv Tale ” currently streaming on Amazon. She is also a producer on “A Luv Tale: The Series”.

She is currently executive producer on the forthcoming documentary “Raising” which tells the story of 10 of the 34 Black women who have raised over $1m in venture funding.


Sian is an LP with Backstage Capital . Backstage’s fund is dedicated to providing capital for startups founded by women, people of color and LGBT founders. She is also an angel investor and advises various startups including; Partnr , Soucially Correct and others.

Sian is currently EIR (Entrepreneur in Residence) at Cross Culture Ventures. CCV is an early stage venture firm.
