Managing Partner, IPS Legal Group, P.A.
Joycelyn S. Brown, Esq. is the managing partner at IPS Legal Group, P.A. and is a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Ms. Brown earned her Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology from Texas A&M University, a school recognized for its engineering program. Prior to entering the legal field, Ms. Brown worked extensively for a leading semiconductor manufacturing company. She then went on to obtain her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Miami School of Law. While attending law school, Ms. Brown was employed as a law clerk for a prominent global corporation. This job allowed her to utilize her legal studies in a real-world environment and practice under the guidance of seasoned attorneys. Following her
graduation from the University of Miami School of Law in 2008, Ms. Brown accepted a position with a
large law firm in Miami, Florida. She then went on complete a federal judicial clerkship. In 201 3, Ms.
Brown began servicing clients for what is now known as IPS Legal Group, P.A.
Working with a variety of clients, Ms. Brown has extensive experience in all areas of business law, business growth strategies, intellectual property law, patents and trademarks. Her background in engineering technology greatly enhances her technical understanding and intricacies of inventions, and her business experience allows her to anticipate the business and legal needs for IPS Legal Group ‘ s business clientele.
Throughout her career, Ms. Brown has served as an active member in the community and a leader for the Firm ‘ s pro bono initiatives. In 2015, Ms. Brown was recognized as one of the top 40 Under 40 Black Professionals in Miami. Ms. Brown is also an adjunct professor at Miami-Dade College.
